Members will develop and implement a visual and performing arts program including elements of drawing, ceramics, photography, digital art, acting, performing, makeup, costume design, set-building, sound and lighting, and event promotion, as well as fieldtrips and other activities that will fully utilize the extensive art facility and provide a well-rounded art experience for high school transitions students and adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities.

Members will provide critical support to high school students and adults with disabilities, including those with developmental and intellectual disabilities, and many who are deaf or hard of hearing. In this role, the Member will empower participants by offering hands-on job coaching and workforce skills training in diverse industries, including visual and performing arts, theatre, retail spaces, coffee shops, food catering, flower arranging, agriculture, landscape/beautification, set design/build, theatre sound/light tech, etc.

Members serving as a K-12 Language Arts or Math Tutor should have a deep understanding of the subject(s) and will use their insight and creativity to adapt to each student's needs and learning style, engage and help students feel comfortable during sessions, provide academic support to student’s current classwork, and be able to supplement with additional resources. The Member will consult with the student’s language arts and math teachers as needed to develop effective ways to engage students in the subject matter. Tutors must be organized, creative, and patient when working with students and must also provide feedback to the school’s education team regarding individual student progress. (Note that NewMexiCorps members serving as tutors for the Albq. Sign Language Academy do NOT need to be proficient in ASL.)

Members will be a strategic thought partner who will develop and execute programs that coordinate and align resources for participants to achieve the mission of their host site, with the goal of positively impacting educational, social-emotional, and employment outcomes. The Member will work in collaboration with the organization administration, liaisons, and other community stakeholders to deliver programs, services, and opportunities including Special Olympics.
